Environment Sustainability
On climate, our strategy focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and increasing the share of renewable energy across our operations. Our emission-reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reinforces our dedication to measurable, science-driven progress.
We continue to advance transparency by aligning our climate reporting with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, helping stakeholders understand how climate-related risks and opportunities are managed within our business.
Key actions include optimizing manufacturing processes, upgrading energy systems, and integrating low-carbon and energy-efficient technologies. We are steadily expanding our renewable energy portfolio through solar installations and green power sourcing initiatives.
We are committed to protecting biodiversity and preserving the natural ecosystems that sustain life and health. Our approach focuses on minimizing ecological impact, restoring natural habitats, and promoting responsible sourcing across our operations and supply chain.
As the first pharmaceutical company globally to publish a verified TNFD report, we work to protect natural ecosystems around our sites.
We practice responsible water stewardship to ensure business continuity, environmental protection, and community well-being. Glenmark has achieved Water Positive status by replenishing more water than we consume through Project Jal Kavach, led by the Glenmark Foundation.
We maintain Zero Waste to Landfill across our manufacturing and R&D sites in India through waste-reduction initiatives, maximizing material recovery, and ensuring safe and compliant disposal practices, and extended producer responsibility programs.
