This state of the art R&D centre is spread over 1,25,000 sq feet with over 200 scientists working on multiple target in broad therapeutic areas of inflammation, inflammatory pain and metabolic disorders

It is a complete end to end setup with expertise in all areas of NCE discovery and development ranging from target selection to clinical development

The research facility is equipped with the most modern infrastructure required to carry out activities such as:

Medicinal Chemistry: Availability of several focused libraries generated in-house over the last eight years

Process chemistry: Lab scale reactors for synthesis of complex and novel chemical structures with scale-up capability to meet pre-IND requirements

Analytical: Fully equipped with state of the art analytical equipment including HPLCs, GCs, NMR, XRD etc.

In–vitro Biology: Complete set-up for in-vitro assay development including microbial and mammalian cell cultures, molecular biology, radiometric and biochemical assays

In–vivo pharmacology: In-house set up for a wide range of animal models in the area of inflammation, inflammatory pain and metabolic disorders

Project Management: Sophisticated project management tools in place for coordination and smooth running of cross-functional projects

Library: Access to global databases and scientific literature through physical and online subscriptions

The R&D centre has been responsible for discovering 13 NCEs in a short span of nine years. Of these, six molecules have reached clinical trials, making Glenmark the leader in the Drug Discovery arena.
