The company has operations in 29 markets in the region. The region has four subsidiaries in Nigeria, South Africa, UAE and Egypt. It also has a representative office in Kenya. All these five countries are focus markets for Glenmark in the Africa and Middle East Region. Over 350 products are sold in this region.

In December 2005, Glenmark acquired Bouwer Bartlett Pty. Ltd., a South African Sales and Marketing company, through its wholly owned Swiss subsidiary, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals SA. Its pharmaceutical business unit produces, markets, sells and distributes a range of dermatological products including brands like Synalar and Naseptin. Bouwer Bartlett operates in the prescription market, pharmacy/health shops, and hospital & state sectors in South Africa. In addition, it distributes products to other Southern African countries, namely Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
In the year 2006, Glenmark also acquired range of products from PD Pharmaceuticals. The company further, in–licensed range of dermatological products from MZ Pharmaceuticals, giving Glenmark a strong presence in the dermatology segment. |
